Susan's a fiction writer and poet. She was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She has published four novels, as well as several poems and short stories in various journals and magazines.
After receiving an undergraduate degree in English, she completed graduate coursework at University of Michigan-Flint. As an educator for over twenty years, Susan has worn many hats: an adult education teacher, educational coordinator and academic interventionist in grade schools and high schools.
Susan has been active in a fabulous group of local authors and poets, Writers as Instructors.
Her published novels include: INSOMINY (2010) and A MENTOR AND HER MUSE (2018), DANCING IN THE RING (2023), and SILVER LADY: TRAVELS ALONG THE RIVER ROAD (2024). DANCING IN THE RING received a Literary Titan Book Award, and was also a finalist in the Global Book Awards and American Writing Awards.
She is currently working on a sequel to SILVER LADY and hopes to publish it within the next couple years.
